My kind and motivational methods have developed through almost 30 years of working with many different types of dogs.  Throughout this time, I have come to understand that most successful and consistent results stem from using positive reinforcement methods.  My very effective training methods will enable you to train your dog to the level you choose, whether you are looking for a well behaved family pet or aspire to greater things!

You will achieve a dog who is fulfilled and settled in his life and does not look for his own “job” to do, together with the most amazing bond through working together on a regular basis.

The classes are relaxed and informal providing the ideal atmosphere in which to learn.  I actively encourage all members of the family to attend and participate if they wish.

Puppy Introduction Lesson

• Ideal if you are new to dog ownership.
• Helps you to feel more confident in your approach.
• A jumpstart to rearing your puppy.
• An individual lesson tailored to your concerns or issues
• Suitable for all ages and breed of puppy.
• All puppy worries you may have can be helped.
• Available as a home visit or join me at my training hall.

Puppy Course

• This course is designed purely for puppies of 18 weeks or age or under at the start of the course.
• The aim is to teach you how to communicate with your puppy to ensure you build a trusting and satisfying relationship.
• The perfect start to socialising and training your puppy.
• All basic puppy training exercises taught, please contact me if you would like further details.
• Careful socialising to ensure you puppy learns confidence and social etiquette.
• 6 week course.
• 1 hour duration minimum.
• Maximum of 6 puppies per group.

Terrible Teenagers Course

• Ideal continuation course from puppy course.
• Also ideal for dogs continuing on from a private lesson and/or have basic obedience skills.
• Designed to provide you with advanced control. Please contact me for further details of the exercises taught.
• Moral support which is greatly beneficial during your puppy’s adolescence!
• 6 weeks course.
• 1 hour duration minimum.
• 6 dogs only per goup to allow individual help.

Please note your dog must be socially confident around strange dogs and people to ensure maximum benefit from the course. Stressed dogs are unable to learn and therefore may be happier learning in an individual environment.

Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme

• Developed by The Kennel Club to encourage and promote good ownership and control. (www.thekennelclub.org.co.uk)
• Working towards achieving a goal can help to ensure you remain motivated to train your dog
• Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are available
• Platinum test, developed by myself for those owners who had achieved the gold test with their dog but wanted to continue!
• Fortnightly class
• 1 hour duration minimum

Social Walks

• Ensure your dog passes through his puppyhood, teenage years and maturity without “going off the rails”!
• Ideal for nervous dogs (and/or owners).
• Controlled, outdoor environment to ensure correct social etiquette is achieved.
• Teach your dog how to interact correctly to ensure he can potentially diffuse any trouble from other dogs in the park.
• Groups of dogs arranged to ensure a harmonious learning environment.
• Off lead interaction giving your dog the opportunity to learn his or her social skills from other dogs. We cannot teach them how to interact with each other correctly, only other dogs can do this. However we can provide the right dogs and the right environment for this to happen.
• Not suitable for aggressive dogs, please contact me to discuss this further as I may be able to recommend a specialist who can help you and your dog.

1-1 Lesson

• Ideal for dogs uncomfortable around strange dogs or people or they find a class environment particularly difficult.
• Perfect if you have a dog with one or 2 specific behaviours you would like to address. Courses cover specific exercises, some of which your dog may already understand well. However, individually, all training time is utilised effectively to fulfill your requirements.
• Confidence building for dog and/or handler.
• Great as a starter lesson before joining any of my other groups.
• Offered as either a home consultation or visit me at my training hall.
• Feel free to “share” a lesson with a friend, you can then split the cost.
• 1 hour or half an hour lesson.

Competition Obedience

• If you are looking for a challenge then this could be for you.
• This sport is similar to dressage with horses.
• It is an exacting dog sport, aimed at teaching your dog precision, style and of course obedience.
• Super team building!
• Available as a private lesson, small hourly group or whole day group.
• WARNING – You may just get bitten by the bug!

Club Nights

• Social club atmosphere.
• Suitable for all the family.
• Developed because owners and dogs enjoyed coming so much they asked for their own class!
• Weekly ongoing class to ensure you continue to feel motivated and progress quickly.
• Fun and helpful exercises, as it is “your group” feel free to make requests!
• Agility nights.
• Quiz nights at local pub.
• Christmas dog party and meal out for owners.
• 1 hour duration minimum.
